Let's Have Some Fun!

As a writer, I have purchased instructional books to learn more about crafting stellar fiction. But, I constantly return to the books containing creative prompts and exercises. These seem to spark my imagination and get the juices flowing. One particular book I have even has short encouraging or challenging quips to accompany the exercises.

The only thing missing in these quirky books is a Christian perspective. With so many Christian writers on the publishing scene, couldn't we use a creative boost from a book of this sort? I say a resounding Yes!

I hope you'll join me on this journey which will take us through the Bible from a Christian writer's point of view. On each post I will endeavor to give you a short, creative writing activity to crank up your imagination and get those creative muscles flexed and in action. I will include a short encouraging or maybe even challenging thought. I might even throw in another activity to extend your session.

My goal is to inspire our creativeness from a Christian perspective by providing a new post twice each week for your Monday and Thursday. Please subscribe to this blog and the Creative Christian Writers' Crank Up will be delivered to your email.

I'm asking that you comment as to the effectiveness of the exercises and about the affect of the short thoughts. Give suggestions. Share about what you created.

I am excited to engage in the adventure with you by my side as we crank up the creativity in our writing to glorify the Lord. Grab a notebook, looseleaf paper, or a paper towel.

Are you with me?

  3. Eileen, I would love for you to share this with your students. I pray it will boost some brain cells as well as be an encouragement.

Carlene, thanks for stopping in. I was so excited about this little endeavor that I actually have the first three weeks already typed in as well as an outline for the whole thing. I hope it will encourage Christian writers. I know how I could use that.
